White Oak Wanderers Climbs Ben Nevis in Support of Chester Charity KidsBank

White Oak UK Climbs Ben Nevis for Chester Charity KidsBank

On Saturday, 10th August, White Oak UK’s Chester team members undertook the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. This effort was made in support of KidsBank Chester, a local charity. Staff from various departments travelled from Chester to Scotland for the ascent. Despite facing winds of 35 mph and temperatures as low as -3°C, they successfully reached the summit, standing 1,345 metres above sea level.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

KidsBank Chester plays a crucial role in assisting families across Cheshire and Flintshire. These families often struggle with homelessness, unemployment, rising living costs, and domestic violence. The charity’s mission is to protect vulnerable children and provide support wherever needed. Therefore, White Oak UK is proud to contribute to this vital cause through fundraising efforts.

The Climb: An Unforgettable Experience

The team set off early on Saturday morning from White Oak HQ in Chester. They aimed to complete the climb in under three hours. Jordan Davies-Jennings, a member of the Sales Support team, reflected on the journey:

“The climb had three distinct stages: the honeymoon stage, when we were all excited and enjoying the pleasant weather; the uncertainty stage, when fatigue set in, and the weather turned halfway up; and finally, the closing stage, when we felt a sense of accomplishment as we reached the summit. It was tough but extremely rewarding.”

He added, “KidsBank is an amazing charity that helps families and children in need. I’m happy that the money will go to those less fortunate. I would recommend this climb to anyone considering it.”

Our Commitment to Charity

At White Oak UK, supporting charitable causes is a central focus. This year alone, we have raised £4,500 for organisations such as West Cheshire Foodbank, Hospice of the Good Shepherd, and the Glasgow Association for Mental Health. In addition, our team is always seeking new charities to support as part of our commitment to giving back to the community.

We strongly believe in the crucial work that KidsBank Chester is doing. Our contribution will help them continue their important efforts. Raising awareness and funds for these causes is a key priority for us, and we look forward to continuing our charitable initiatives.
